Huang Wang (Hg.: Zhu Juanlan): The Non-Appearing (or the Nothing) and Its Representative

Produktinformationen "Huang Wang (Hg.: Zhu Juanlan): The Non-Appearing (or the Nothing) and Its Representative"

Beginning from the Problem of Registration (Setzung / enregistrement) in German Classical Philosophy and Phenomenology.

Why does something have to be registered before it can appear? Taking the distinction between the nothing and the merely non-appearing as its point of departure, this book develops “registration” into a fundamental philosophical concept. Drawing on Fichte and Hegel’s Setzung, on Lacan’s double inscription, and on Deleuze and Guattari’s enregistrement, it shows that whatever enters a symbolic order gains visibility only at the cost of alienation. The argument is then traced through Kant, Fichte, Schelling, Hegel and phenomenology, and condensed into a three-step principle: discovering, overstepping, and transforming the limit. The non-appearing is never abandoned; it is what the representative must remain faithful to.
